WLW–Be My Valentine –Take the Initiative

I love these challenges even though I already “take the initiative” to show/tell my husband I love him and appreciate him.  I figure I can always learn something new!!!

Week 1 Challenge - Take the Initiative! Look for ways to praise your husband verbally.

“Praise him in front of the kids, friends, family, co-workers, on facebook, tweet it – get praise out anyway you can! Try to mention something noteworthy he has done – in his role as provider, father, husband, lover, or friend.”

I try to “stalk” his facebook wall often with “I love you” or beautiful picture with a loving quote.  I also send him a lot via private message because when he is at work, he can’t see his facebook page but he can see his email so he gets my notes.  It will always be on going.

AND

I “spam” his email with love as well.

                                                AND  “snail mail”

HOMHOM PraiseHusband
I purchase a variety of cards all year long just to mail to my husband – He loves getting them in the mail!

It lets him know that I appreciate him for all that he is and all that he does for me and our family. He works hard so I can stay home and care for our home.

Another way I “praise” my husband, not talking ill of him to others.  If we are having a bad day, I will NEVER ever share that on facebook or anywhere else with anyone else.  It’s between us and God and that’s where it needs to stay.  I’ve seen it done among my friends and I think it’s a dishonor to their marriage and I feel sad for them.

We enjoyed “date night” – going to his favorite restaurant, watching “old” TV shows from the 50’s –he really enjoys them.  Listening to his favorite music later in the evening.   On our date, I did all the driving (sounds silly) but he drives everywhere – I like to ride along.  He doesn’t particularly like to drive either, so he does it for  me – awe!  So I made sure I drove him around when I had the chance.  He took notice too, and thanked me for driving! Smile

Then there is “prayer” – I thank God for him in the morning, throughout the day and at night.  Although God knows everything my husband does and how I feel about him, I still enjoy having conversations with God letting him know how much I appreciate my husband.

Make is a great day,
Martha
